SEDS in Education
The Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) is the largest student run space organization extending to several countries, including a multitude of chapters across the United States. A key word in our organization’s name is student, which is an emphasis on continual education. We believe that students of all sorts are the future of this country and the space industry whether they become directly involved as a career, or are simply cheering on a rocket launch from their living rooms. We want to help students learn, however we can. We are constantly realizing and creating new resources for education, and wish to make those available to you.
Some Resources We Can Offer
Our various college chapters will have their own projects going (from doing research to building rockets) which we’d love for high school students to get involved in, and we are up to date with other competitions for both colleges and high schools (which can be found
here). Some classroom resources include posters, handouts, notebook paper, presentations, podcasts on various space related topics, and much more. Since there are chapters across the country, there will often be members near your school that are willing to help out with science fairs, career days, or to simply work with students as a mentor. If there is any way you feel we could help, then we want to know. We will work directly with you to help further your students’ education in any way possible.
