[SEDS Alumni Board] long range planning

Hi everyone. I wanted to start some action on the Alumni Board list. 
There are currently eight of us -- see 
http://wiki.seds.org/index.php/SEDS-USA_Alumni_Board -- plus the current 
prez and vice-prez, Liz Bozek and Ryan McLinko. Mark Ciotola also asked 
to be included; are there any objections to this?

I think our essential functions are to help with long range planning and 
using our store of institutional knowledge for the current SEDS-USA Exec 
Board. On the second point, Ryan, can we add willing Alumni Board 
members to the sedsexec email list?

On the first point, I need your input about what we can do. Here's what 
I think we can help with:
* 5-year strategic plan
* starting the endowment fund,

* Exec Board Starter Kit as a how-to guide for running the organization 
that each new board would receive,

* SEDS conference how-to, 
http://wiki.seds.org/index.php/SEDS_Conference_Passdown_Notebook

SEDSWiki will be a major part of all of this. Chris, Ben, and I have 
been maintaining it, and it is an outstanding way to keep info in the 
open and easily editable (don't worry, we track it for spam and vandalism)

I'd like to do for the current SEDS what we weren't able to do ourselves 
(with the exception of Ben and Megha, of course): keep the organization 
from periodically driving off a cliff. Talk to you all soon.
