conference at the University of Illinois. Congratulations to the
Illinois team. Regular monthly status updates will be sent out
concerning the development of the conference. Anyone can get involved in
this year's SEDS-USA conference. If you are interested in helping
organize the event please contact Kirk Kittell at kittell at uiuc.edu

*Join Your Regional SEDS Expansion Team.*
The Director of Expansion is implementing a program for reaching out to
new schools across the nation. This program is organized into regions
where each region will be run by an expansion team from local SEDS
chapters. Each regional team will be contacting a number of other local
schools to setup events and meetings with students to provide help in
setting up a new chapter and organizing events. The University of
Illinois has already begun a successful expansion program in their
region, potentially initiating two new SEDS chapters to date.
If you are interested in helping the SEDS expansion efforts please
contact Palash Basu, the national Director of Expansion, at

*Goddard Symposium, ISDC, and Return to the Moon Coordination Teams Formed.*
SEDS members will be attending the Goddard Memorial Symposium, the ISDC,
and the Return to the Moon conference this spring. In order to ensure
that as many students are able to attend these events as possible, we
have setup coordination teams to work with the AAS, NSS, and Space
Frontier Foundation. These teams will be working on organizing
activities for students, and meeting space for SEDS during the events.
The teams will also be attempting to find discounted airfares and cheap
or free housing for SEDS members coming in from out of town.
The first two events (the Goddard Symposium and the ISDC) are being held
in Washington DC. We will be working with students in the region to
bring the SEDS network to their schools through these conferences.
Social events will be coordinated during the events to provide a forum
for current SEDS members to get to know the potential new chapters in
the region. If you have friends in the area interested in space, or
anyone willing to host fellow students for a couple nights for these
events, please let our coordination teams know.
Each team could use more man power to help create the best experience
for all the students interested in attending. If you are interested in
working with SEDS and these other advocacy organizations to help more
students be able to gather at these events, please contact Joshua
Neubert, the SEDS-USA chairman, at neubert at higp.hawaii.edu

*SEDS Exec Board Meeting Time to be Changed.*
Currently, the SEDS-USA executive board has been holding regular
meetings every first and third Wednesdays of the month. These meetings
are open to the public but are used for official SEDS organization
tasks. Feel free to sit in on the meetings, comments on how to improve
SEDS-USA are always welcome.
Due to some schedule conflicts of executive board members, the time for
these meetings is being changed to 11pm EST on the 1^st and 3^rd
Wednesdays of each month. The next meeting will be held March 2^nd .
