Here is a final reminder about the lunar rover design competition, held in conjunction with the UK Space Conference, http://www.spaceconference.org.uk in Surrey from 26-29 March 2008. Abstracts are due by 11 March. See http://earth.seds.org/rovers The grand prize for Phase I -- at UKSC, design-only -- is paid admission to the International Astronautical Congress and SEDS International Conference in Scotland in September 2008, plus points for Phase II1. The grand prize for Phase II -- at SEDSIC, design-and-build -- is a scholarship to the International Space University. Participation will count for points toward travel scholarships to IAC/SEDSIC/SGC. Designs selected for UKSC will be featured by the Google Lunar X PRIZE at http://www.googlelunarxprize.com, as well as at the 2008 American Astronautical Society National Conference in Pasadena, California, home of the rover gurus at NASA JPL. Recent changes to the competition since the last announcement here include excluding the 10-page paper and replacing it with a 5-minute video. The majority of respondents so far are not even from the UK, so this is done to accommodate them. If you have any questions, try: rover.competition@gmail.com or http://earth.seds.org/rovers The competition is hosted by UKSEDS (http://uk.seds.org) and the American Astronautical Society (http://www.astronautical.org). Thanks, and hope to see you in the UK, -Kirk -- _________________________ Kirk Kittell e: kirk.kittell@gmail.com m: +1 703-475-9212 w: http://www.kirkkittell.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
