Hey hey. 2007 marks the beginning of the International Heliophysical Year
(http://www.ihy2007.org) and the International Polar Year
(http://www.ipy.org). Since both relate to studies from space or of space
in some way, a few friends and I mashed IPY and IHY together and created a
blog called Frozen Sun (polar + solar). It works like this: one week, an
expert related to IPY studies will post, then answer questions for two
weeks; then the next week, an expert related to IHY studies will post and
answer questions for two weeks. And so on. It is a good chance to learn
about various fields of space science/technology and possible careers in
these fields.
The first post has been created by Yuki Takahashi, a graduate student at
the University of California at Berkeley who spent time at the South Pole
studying the Big Bang. Go to http://blogs.seds.org/frozensun and leave
questions and comments about Yuki's work, and he will be respond to you.

lo-fi,

ps: If you would like to help invite experts to post, please send me an
email. It is a chance to "show off" the studies in your region.
