Hardware/Software: Casio Camera (QV Series) and
Casio QV-Link Software or a video capture card.
Lesson Description: Digital photos can be placed
in slideshows, on web sites, etc. A digital camera can be used to
record a field trip, a "how-to" slideshow, or take pictures of all
your students for them to use and to place into a Making the Grade
seating chart!

Materials:
Subject for photos (animate or inanimate).
Procedure:
TAKING PICTURES
- 1. Switch to Record mode
(function switch).
2. Set the Normal/Macro
switch (Macro for less than 6 inches).
3. Use Mode to enter the resolution (Set it to Normal
&emdash; N for smaller pictures).
4. Click on the Shutter
Button to take the
picture.
DISPLAYING PICTURES
- 1. Switch to Playback
mode.
2. Toggle through the pictures (using the + or - ).
3. Connect the Camera to the Video In of a VCR or television to
display or record!
DELETING PICTURES
- 1. Switch to Playback
mode.
2. Toggle through the pictures (using the + or - ).
3. Press DEL (Delete).
4. Press the Shutter
Button to delete this picture
(page).
5. Press the Shutter to
confirm (+ or - to select other pictures).
DOWNLOAD & PRINT
Using the QV-Link Software
- 1. Open the Terminal Panel Cover (see below).
2. Plug the AC
adapter into the AC Power
Terminal.
3. Connect the Digital terminal to
the serial port (modem/printer)
of your computer.
4. Switch the camera to Playback
mode.
5. Launch the QV-LINK
application.
6. Select Camera-Get From
CameraÉ (or Camera-Get Camera
Album for multiple shots)
7. Click to Select the
picture(s) you want
displayed.
8. Select File-Export to
save the picture for use later.
9. Choose PICT (Choose JPEG if using the picture on a web
page!)
10 Save the picture(s) to your folder.
Using a Video Capture Card
- 1. Open the Terminal Panel Cover (see below).
2. Plug the AC
adapter into the AC Power
Terminal.
3. Connect the Video or Digital cable.
4. Select ð-Apple Video Player.
5. Select Windows-Normal
Size (ð-2).
6. Windows-Show Controls Window
will pull up the controls if
necessary.
7. The Video
Screen controls adjust the
picture.
8. Click on the Video Capture
controls icon.
9. Make sure the picture number is gone (DISP on the top of the
camera).
10. Use the + and - on the camera to advance through
the pictures.
11. Click on Save to save a picture.

PRINTING PICTURES
- 1. Double-click on a
picture to open it in SimpleText.
2. Select File-Print.
3. Pay attention to which printer it is going!
6. Make sure Color/Grayscale
is selected (very important)!

PICT for scans to use in ClarisWorks.
GIF or JPEG for the Internet or a
PC!

INSERTING PICTURES
- 7) Select File-Insert to
insert your picture into ClarisWorks or elsewhere!
8) Use a photo saved as a JPEG or clip art saved as a GIF file on
a web page (Claris Home Page).
